A Birthday First

I had a birthday at the weekend. Falling, as it does, in the early part of March, it was always touch and go as I grew up as to whether it would snow on the big day or not. That hasn't been an issue in recent years but this year delivered up a first. When Mister E and I took a break from decorating at our home, as we get the unaffected areas prepared for our return, we sat on our patio area and ate lunch (sandwiches from a Tupperware container) outside!

Since then, normal service has resumed and when I set off for the gym this morning it was, of course, sleeting.

Needless to say I am now keeping a careful eye on the forecast which currently says it is going to rain non-stop on our moving date. Fingers crossed that it is as inaccurate as ever.

In the past, I have often mused over the fact that I am now able to plan my days around the weather. There are some commitments, however, that even in retirement I realise I'm desperate to keep, rain or shine.

Being able to plan your days around the weather is indeed a joy isn't it. And I may be weird but I kinda like the idea of sandwiches out of a tupperware as a birthday celebration!!!! Happy birthday!

Thankfully there were no candles, otherwise the Tupperware might have melted!

Belated happy birthday. I think an al fresco lunch in March is quite a lovely treat, maybe in future years you could upgrade beyond the Tupperware but keep the tradition?

Thank you. That’s actually a really great idea although it was sleeting again this morning, suggesting last weekend might have been somewhat freak weather conditions.

A very belated happy birthday! Strangely, up here in the west of Scotland the weather has been amazing! We've had clear blue skies and lots of sunshine if a bit cold at times but it's been wonderful. I'm not sure when your move is scheduled for but if it is still to come then I hope you get dry weather for it. You must be so happy to be going home again. x

Thanks. The move took place over 2 days on Thursday and Friday and yes, the weather was dry and sunny on both days. Now we’re stuck in cleaning mode. Hoping to come up for air to blog again soon!
